Today my new double single NY/LA is released on Spotify and on Soundcloud.

After six years of producing my own electronic music in an isolated studio in Stockholm, I was longing to work with others. A chance encounter on a plane across the Atlantic led to a lunch with indie music champion Greg Vegas, who in turned introduced me to Brooklyn-based producer Mark Ephraim (Joan as a Policewoman, A Nighthawk, Sophia Knapp). Together with musicians Kevin Barker (Feist), Parker Kindred (Godspeed You! Black Emperor) and Tyler Woods (Antony & the Johnsons) we recorded these two songs in Vibromonk Studios, Brooklyn.

The songs form the first part of my new project: to write music about cities. I can fall in love with a place just like I can fall in love with a person, and when my love life finally got sorted out, it made sense to me to write about my relationships to cities like Stockholm, Tokyo, Nashville, Montreal, New York, Buenos Aires, Reykjavik, London, Los Angeles and Havana. Greg calls it Swedish Americana.

March 27 I will do a set at Fontana's, NYC playing some of these songs as part of a Scandinavian showcase. Other acts include Swedish band THIS IS HEAD and Norwegian singer Sandra Kolstad.
